A Recipe for Happiness

Seven years single, and I have learned a lot. I have read countless books, listened to podcasts, and read blogs. I have traveled and experienced cultural and social awakenings along the way. I have met new friends that have become best friends. My weekends now consist of exercise, eating, drinking, dancing, church, maybe making or seeing art, and lending a hand to someone in need. (ok, maybe a little cleaning too) I have the good fortune to be able to listen to live music 6 - 7 days a week, whether it is at work, bar, or club which always enhances my mood.

Basically, what I am saying is that life is good. No, life is great! I have worked hard to better myself and get to a point where I can put everything that I have learned into practical living. I surround myself with funny, caring, and supportive people. I have recently ended an off and on-again relationship and couldn't feel better about it. I want to laugh, be happy, stand up for good causes and yes, meet somebody I can share the rest of my life with. Until that happens though, I am going to embrace the life I have and laugh as often as I can.

Speaking of blogs and laughing, I started to follow a blog called Sexiled in Scottsdale that always puts a smile on my face. The fact that it takes place in Scottsdale makes it even more relatable. As my pastor and his guest speakers always reminds us, he has the most beautiful people in his congregation. Scottsdale is definitely bougie, it is chock full of gorgeous women and wealthy men. The struggle is real!

Until Mr. Right comes along, I think I will just continue to focus on being the best version of me. Not that I plan on changing that if I do meet him, especially after kissing many frogs along the way. Laughter is the best medicine, art soothes the soul, music moves you, friends make your heart full and food sustains you. A delicious recipe for happiness.
